Inspired by an educational movie night, watching Bill Maher’s Religulous, I feel that, as a WaterBoy, it is my duty to say some words about water and religion. One particular example in the movie stands out:

So the Trinity is like water, it can be steam, ice and liquid. This analogy is striking. The Trinity, a fundamental concept within Christianity, is the belief that God is three separate persons, but is still a single God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). Following the water analogy, I wonder who could be what? Holy Spirit relates to steam – obviously. But I’m left puzzled how to relate ice and liquid to either Father or Son.

Of course water not only plays a central role in Christianity. In most religions, water has a cleansing function. Water can clean holy object but also has the power to clean people’s spirit and thus make them more perceptible for God’s message. This theme can be found, amongst others, in Christianity (baptism), Hinduism and Judaism.

It should be pointed out that this exploration is merely scratching the surface. There’s much more to explore and our valued readers are encouraged to take part in the discussion.

One of my next posts shall explore the role water plays in philosophy. It is simply flabbergasting on how many levels water affects our lives and believes.

Looks like water ain’t welcome here.

The Water Boyz would like to document how water shows its patience by turning limestone into a natural phenomenon. Here’s the official message on the cave formation posted on the Natural Bridge Cavern website:

The cavern formed by an underground “river” moving slowly through cracks and pores within the limestone. Rain Water seeping through cracks started dissolving the limestone. In time, the original narrow cracks or joints enlarged to form huge underground conduits or passages.

Perhaps due to changes in climate, vegetation, or other natural forces, the water drained to lower levels within the earth. As the water left the upper passages, it moved deeper and started forming a second level. The water eventually moved to another level even deeper within the earth. As the water left the lower level, stresses within the rock led to many of the layers collapsing to form break-out domes. This final stage of collapse led to the creation of the passages our visitors now see.

Thanks to our readers, rain water has been voted as one of our fans’ favorite form of water in our recent poll. Here is a close up shot of rain water in the cavern for y’all to worship:

I am talking, of course, about the mother of all doomsday motion pictures, “2012,” directed by “filmmaker,” and I use that word loosely, Roland Emmerich.

You would be correct to point that out! Hollywood has poisoned water’s good name before. If we look at a brief history of filmmaking, the attack on water IS RIGHT BEFORE OUR EYES. Behold:

Hey WaterBoyz–how much water should I be drinking daily? I can’t seem to get a straight answer from my friends and it’s literally driving me insane.

P.S. What do you guys DO?

Stan, according to multiple scientific studies, e.g., (Actuarius, 1557) if you drink 6-8 cups of water a day, you should be fine. You probably get much more than that if you drink teas, milk, juice, coffees, or soft drinks.

In the future, you should consult either a WaterBoy or doctor for your water-related questions. Not your friends.
