UN Declares Water a Fundamental Human Right:
On this Earth Day, I thought it would be appropriate to share the following story. It illustrates how melting glaciers are affecting marginalized cultures.
The master has spoken…
“Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless — like water. Now you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup; You put water into a bottle it becomes the bottle; You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.”
From Norm Su, whose work as the WaterBoyz’ official coffee broker is unsurpassed in the industry, comes another caffeine cocktail, LavAzza Caffe Espresso, sure to provide that extra pep in your step.

I love creeks and the music they make.
And tills, in glades and meadows, before
they have a chance to become creeks.
I may even love them best of all
for their secrecy. I almost forgot
to say something about the source!
Can anything be more wonderful than a spring?
But the big streams have my heart too.
And the places streams flow into rivers.
The open mouths of rivers where they join the sea.
The places where water comes together
with other water. These places stand out
in my mind like holy places.
But these coastal rivers!
I love them the way some men love horses
or glamorous women. I have a thing
for this cold swift water.
Just looking at it makes my blood run
and my skin tingle. I could sit
and watch these rivers for hours.
Not one of them like any other.
I’m 43 years old today.
Would anyone believe it if I said
I was once 35?
My heart empty and sere at 35!
Five more years had to pass
before it began to flow again.
I’ll take all the time I please this afternoon
before leaving my place alongside this river.
It pleases me, loving rivers.
Loving them all the way back
to their source.
Loving everything that increases me.
–Raymond Carver (1938-1988) was a brilliant American poet, short-story writer, and essayist.

Our readers may ask, what exactly is a spit-take? A spit-take is often seen in comedies in which someone is surprised while drinking, and spits out that water or other beverages. For old timers, a spit-take can also be referred to as “a Danny Thomas” given his role in popularizing the technique in comedy.
Danny Thomas does his signature spit-take in his 1950’s show “Make Room for Daddy”. Scroll to the end if you can’t wait to see it.
The first instance of spit-take ever filmed, however, is credited to Jack Brawn’s performance in Dreams of a Rarebit Fiend (1906). The historic spit-take occurs at 0:35.
Ever since then, the act of spit-take has spread across the world like monsoons.
Bollywood -Aaya Toofan (1964)
Hong Kong – Book and Sword (2002)
Back to the Future (1985) – Michael J. Fox spit-takes whiskey all over the steering wheel of his car in Back to the Future when he sees his future mother lighting up a cigarette.
Ratatouille (2007) – Anton Ego does spit-take when he hears that Gusteau is popular again. He pauses to check the label on the bottle of wine he was drinking and apparently decides it’s too good to spit out.
The Simpsons, Season 12 Episode 6: “The Computer Wore Menace Shoes” (December 3, 2000) – When Homer sees the price of a computer he plans to buy is $5,000, he stops, takes a sip of his coffee, looks at the price tag again, and spit-takes.
Obviously, none of these funny moments would’ve ever occurred to us without the help of water and other water-based beverages. However, before we dedicate this blog entirely to water, we must make a tribute to Conan, Andy and their staffs by ending with a spit-take originally aired on The Late Night Show on February 5, 1997.
Sadly, Conan ended his 7-month stint as the host of The Tonight Show on January 22, 2010 due to mismanagement on NBC’s part. In his last show, Conan ultimately took the high road and thanked his former employer for a chance at “the best job in the world.” He then continued to make the following inspirational remark:
“All I ask of you is one thing: please don’t be cynical. I hate cynicism — it’s my least favorite quality and it doesn’t lead anywhere,” he concluded. “Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you’re kind, amazing things will happen.”
In our opinion, Conan couldn’t have ended the show on a better now given the situation. Water, along with Team CoCo, are what made our dreams possible. The Water Boyz thanks CoCo for making the world a better place. Go Team CoCo!!
Attention: The WaterBoyz will no longer be serving “Kirkland Signature 100% Colombian Coffee Supremo Bean/Dark Roast/Fine Grind.
Why?
We have unanimously decided that it is rank. Stay far, far away. But if you like imbibing black liquid that tastes like a diabolical combination of motor oil and burnt rubber, this might be the stuff for you. The WaterBoyz, however, will pass. Sorry, Costco!

Figure 1. I wanna ralph SO hard right now.
